**Example 1: find the volume of the rectangular prism with length of the base is 4cm and width of the base 3 cm and height 5 cm.**

We have length of the base l = 4 cm, width = 3 cm, height = 5 cm

We have the formula, volume of rectangular prism = Area of the Base x height

First we can find the Area of the base

Area of the rectangle =length x width, we can plug the values

Then, Area of the base = 4 x 3 = 12 sq.cm

Volume of rectangular prism = 12 x 5 = 60 cubic cm

**Example 2: The volume of the rectangular prism with length of the base is 9cm and width of the base 6 cm is 540 cubic cm. Find the height of the rectangular prism.**

We have length of the base l = 9 cm, width = 6 cm and volume = 540 cubic cm

We have the formula, volume of rectangular prism = length x width x height

We can plug the values in the formula, and then we have

540 = 9 x 6 x height

From this we can write height of the rectangular prism = 10 cm
