Triangular prism calculator is used to find surface area and volume of the prism. A triangular prism is made of 2 triangles and 3 rectangles. To find the surface area we need to add areas of the 2 triangles and 3 rectangles. Volume of the triangular prime is ½ x base x height x length. 


Example 1: Calculation of the surface area of the isosceles triangular prism, Length = 18, Breath = 12, Side = 5, Height = 9

For the given question

Area of rectangle

R1 = LxB = 18x12 = 216 cm2 ,

R2 =2 LxS = 2x18x5 = 180 cm2;

Area of 2 triangles =2( ½ HxB) = 2(1/2x9x12) = 108 cm2

Surface area of the isosceles triangular prism.

 = R1 + 2R2 + 2(1/2HxB) =

= 216 + 180 + 108 = 504 cm2



Example 2: Calculation of the volume of the equilateral triangular prism, Length = 9, Side = 8, Height = 4

For the given question

Volume of a triangular prism = ½ x base x height x length

Since this is a equilateral triangular all the sides will be equal therefore base = side

= ½ x B x H x L

= ½ x 8 x 4 x 9

= 144 cm3

Volume of the triangular prism = 144 cm3
