Stefan Boltzmann law states that the total energy radiated from a blackbody per unit surface area and unit time is proportional to the 4th power of its absolute temperature. Example 1:  Find Energy radiated by the blackbody if the temperature of the body is 300 K and constant = 5.67 x 10-8

According to the Stefan Boltzmann Law 

P =σ T4

Replacing the values into this formula we can find the energy emitted

P = 5.67 x 10-8 (300)4

= 5.67 x 10-8 (81x108)

= 459.27



Example 2:  Given that the energy radiated by the blackbody is 90.72. Find the temperature of the body and constant = 5.67 x 10-8

According to the Stefan Boltzmann Law 

P =σ T4

Replacing the values into this formula we can find the energy emitted

90.72 = 5.67 x 10-8 (T)4

T4 = 90.72/ 5.67 x 10-8

T = 4√16 x 10 8

T =  200 K
