Standard Notation is a simple number without decimals or exponents. The Standard notation calculator is used to convert a decimal or exponent into standard notation. If a number is in word notation or expanded notation we need to write the number in its Standard notation form.

Example 1: Convert these notations into standard notation :

1.      Two thousand eight hundred and forty six

2.      2000 + 300 + 400 + 50 + 30 + 4

3.      34.56 x 103

We will convert these notations into the standard notation.

1.      Two thousand eight hundred and forty six = 2846

2.      2000 + 300 + 400 + 50 + 30 + 4 = 2000 + 700 + 80 + 4 = 2784

3.      34.56 x 103 = 34560

Example 2: Convert these standard notations into following notations

1.      47593 to word notation

2.      68929 to expanded notation

3.      583000 to exponent notation

In the exponent notation we need to place the decimal after the 1st digit and the number of places will be the exponent of the base ten.

1.      47593 = Forty seven thousand, five hundred and ninety three.

2.      68929 = 60000 + 8000 + 900 + 20 + 9

3.      583000 = 5.83 x 105
