Molecular mass calculator is defined as the sum of the atomic masses. The only thing we need to know is the
atomic mass of different elements or we can look after the periodic table for the same. This is well defined in
the modern periodic table. For few elements it can be found out by simply from the relation with atomic
number. We generally take it as twice but it is not valid for the every element. This tool is helpful in calculating
the Molecular mass of any compound.
Question 1:-
Find the molecular mass of the molecular formula C2H4O6.
Solution 1:-
Given formula is: - C2H4O6.
Now to calculate molecular mass of above, we need to first see the periodic table for atomic mass of the
elements. Then we can easily find the molecular mass of C2H4O6 as follows:-
2(12.01) + 4(1.008) + 6(16.00) = 124.052
Hence we find that the molecular mass of C2H4O6 is 124.052.
Question 2:-
Find the molecular mass of the molecular formula C2H4O6.
Solution 2:-
Given formula is: - CH2O4.
Now to calculate molecular mass of above, we need to first see the periodic table for atomic mass of the
elements. Then we can easily find the molecular mass CH2O4.as follows:-
(12.01) + 2(1.008) + 4(16.00) = 78.0266
Hence we find that the molecular mass of CH2O4.is 78.0266
