GCF is the short notation of the term Greatest Common Factor. The highest number which can divide two or more given numbers exactly leaving a remainder of ‘0’ is called the greatest common factor. GCF calculator is a quick tool which helps us get the highest factor among given numbers easily.

Example 1: Find the LCM of the numbers 18, 24 and 36.In order to find the GCF, first the prime factorization of all the three numbers has
to be written.

Then GCF is the number which is the common shared factor between the three
numbers.

Prime factorization of 18 = 2 * 2 * 3

Prime factorization of 24 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3

Prime factorization of 36 = 2 * 2 * 3 * 3

GCF of these numbers = 2 * 2 * 3

Example 2: Find GCF between 24,50 and 88.

Then GCF is the number which is the common shared factor between the three
numbers since the common number is considered to be the common factor highest
among all other valid factors.

Prime factorization of 24 = 2*2*2*3

Prime factorization of 50 = 2*5*5

Prime factorization of 88 = 2*2*2*11

GCFof these number=2
