The online tool used to find the X intercept of a given straight line is called as finding the X intercept calculator. The X Intercept of a straight line is the point where the coordinate touches the X axis. The X intercept is the point with y co-ordinate equals 0 i.e. (a, 0).

Example 1: Find the x intercept of the straight line with the equation
3 X + 4 Y = 12

Given equation of the straight line is 3 X + 4 Y = 12

x intercept is the point on x axis with co-ordinates (a , 0)

So substitute Y = 0 in the given equation.

This gives 3 X + 4 * 0 = 12; 3 X + 0 = 12 > 3 X/ 3 = 12/ 3 = 4.

Hence the x intercept of the given straight line is (4, 0).

Example 2: Find the x intercept of the straight line with the equation
2 X + 5 Y = 10

Given equation of the straight line is 2 X + 5 Y = 10

x-intercept is the point on x axis with co-ordinates (a , 0)

So substitute Y = 0 in the given equation.

This gives 2 X + 5 * 0 = 10; 2 X + 0 = 10 >  2 X/ 2 = 10/ 2 = 5.

Hence the x intercept of the given straight line is (5, 0).
