Trinomials are the expressions with three terms and are a part of the polynomial expressions. Trinomials can be simplified

further by taking the common factor out of the three terms. Factoring trinomials calculator is the simple and easy online tool

which can instantly factor any given trinomial expression.

Example 1: Factor the given trinomial expression, 5xy + 20x2 – 15y2

Given trinomial expression: 5xy + 20x2 – 15y2

The above expression is trinomial since it has three terms. We can see that in the three terms ‘5’ is a common factor since ‘5’,

‘20’ and ‘15’ are all divisible by ‘5’.

If we pull out the ‘5’ we get,

5(xy + 4x2 – 3y2)

Hence 5xy + 20x2 – 15y2 = 5(xy + 4x2 – 3y2)

Example 2: Factor the given trinomial expression, 2x + 4xy + 8y

Given trinomial expression: 2x + 4xy + 8y

The above expression is trinomial since it has three terms. We can see that in the three terms ‘2’ is a common factor since ‘2’,

‘4’ and ‘8’ are all divisible by ‘2’.

If we pull out the ‘2’ we get,

2(x + 2xy + 4y)

Hence 2x + 4xy + 8y = 2(x + 2xy + 4y)
