Trinomial is a type of polynomial which consists of three terms. Each term is separated by a numerical operation which can be either addition or subtraction. Trinomials can be simplified further by the factoring method. Factor the trinomial calculator is the instant tool which can easily factor any given trinomial.

Example 1: Factor the given trinomial expression: 3x3+9x2 - 12x.

Given polynomial expression: 3x3 + 9x2 - 12x

In the above three terms, we can see that ‘x’ and ‘3’ are the common factors, since 3,9 and 12 are all divisible by ‘3’.

Hence we get > 3x3 + 9x2 - 12x = 3x(x2 + 3x – 4)

Nowx2 + 3x - 4 is in the form of a quadratic equation which can be factored as,- > (x + 4)(x - 1)

Hence > 3x3 + 9x2 - 12x=3x(x+ 4)(x- 1)

Example 2: Factor the given trinomial expression: 5x6-35x5 – 60x4.

Given polynomial expression: 5x6 - 35x5 – 60x4

In the above three terms, we can see that ‘x4’ and ‘5’ are the common factors, since 5, 35, 60 are all divisible by ‘5’.

Hence we get > 5x6 - 35x5 – 60x4 = 5x4(x2 – 7x – 12)

Nowx2 – 7x - 12 is a quadratic equation which can be factored as > (x - 4)(x - 3)

Hence > (x2 –7x - 12) = (x – 4) (x – 3)

5x6 - 35x5 – 60x4= 5x4(x – 4)(x – 3)
