An ordered pair is generally written in the form of (x, y). Domain is the set of numbers of a function which are taken as the input valuesfor the independent variable ‘x’. Range of a function is the set of appropriate numbers of the dependent variable ‘y’. Domain and range calculator is the online tool which can give domain and range values accordingly.

Example 1: Find the domain and range forthe given set of a function:

{(1, 3), (2, 4), (3, 7), (5, 8)}

Here in the above set, (1,3) is called an ordered pair.

Any ordered pair is of the form (x, y) and hence (1, 3) è x = 1 and y = 3

In any given set, Domain is the set of ‘x’ values and Range is the set of ‘y’ values.

Domain = {1, 2, 3, 5}

Range = {3, 4, 7, 8}

Example 2: Find the domain and range for the given set of a function:

{(-1, -6), (0, -1), (3, 0), (4, 2), (7,4)}

The above given set consists of ordered pairs.

Every ordered pair is written in the form of (x, y).

In any given set, Domain is the set of ‘x’ values and Range is the set of ‘y’ values.

Domain = {-1, 0, 3, 4, 7}

Range = {-6, -1, 0, 2, 4}
