A fraction is formed when we take the ratio of two numbers in the form of ‘a/b’. When another fraction is placed below the given fraction, they are said to be divided with each other. Divide fraction calculator is the simple tool which can evaluate the value of the division between two fractions.

Example 1: Divide the given fraction 4/3 by 2/5.

Dividing the given two fractions, the expression looks like this è (4/3) / (2/5)

The first fraction is ‘4/3’ the second fraction placed below is ‘2/5’.

In order to divide two fractions, the second fraction is flipped upside down

2/5 becomes 5/2 èthis is called taking reciprocal of a fraction!

This 5/2 is multiplied with the first fraction 4/3.

(4/3) * (5/2) è (4 * 5)/ (3 * 2)

20/6 èthis is simplified to 10/3.

Hence (4/3) / (2/5) = 10/3

Example 2: Divide the given fraction 1/6 by 7/8.

Dividing the given two fractions, the expression looks like this è (1/6) / (7/8)

The first fraction is ‘1/6’ the second fraction placed below is ‘7/8’.

Now the second fraction is flipped upside down

7/8 becomes 8/7 èthis is called taking reciprocal of a fraction!

Now we can multiply 8/7 with the first fraction 1/6.

(1/6) * (8/7) = (1 * 8) / (6 * 7)

8/42 èthis is simplified to 4/21

Hence (1/6) / (7/8) = 4/21
