Decimal numbers are the numbers which have a decimal point and play a very significant role in math calculations. A decimal can be converted to a fraction of the form ‘a/b’ where ‘a’ and ‘b’ are integers and ‘b’ is not equal to ‘0’. Decimal to fraction calculator is the online tool which can convert any decimal number to its fraction form.

Example 1: Convert the decimal number 1.25 to its fraction form.

                                 Given decimal number: 1.25

In order to convert a decimal to its fraction form, first count the number of places to the right side after the decimal point.

1.25 has ‘2’ places after the decimal point.

Hence multiply and divide by the number with 2 zeroes   (1.25 * 100)/100

                                  Hence 1.25 = 125/100

Now simplify this fraction to its simplest form   we can divide the fraction by ‘25’.

                                   (125/25)/ (100/25) = (5/4)

Hence the decimal form of 1.25 is 5/4.

Example 2: Convert the decimal number 2.5 to its fraction form.

                         Given decimal number: 2.5

In order to convert a decimal to its fraction form, first count the number of places to the right side after the decimal point.

2.5 has ‘1’ place after the decimal point.

Hence multiply and divide by the number with 1 zero   (2.5 * 10)/10

                           Hence 2.5 = 25/10

Now simplify this fraction to its simplest form   we can divide the fraction by ‘5’.

                           (25/5)/ (10/5) =(5/2)

Hence the decimal form of 2.5 is 5/2.
