**Example 1: Add the given mixed fractions, 2 1/3 + 4 1/6.**

In order to add these two mixed fractions first convert them to their improper fractions form!

**2 1/3 = (2 * 3) + 1 = 7/3**

**4 1/6 = (4 * 6) + 1 = 25/6**

7/3 + 25/6

**Example 2: Add the given mixed fractions, 1 3/2 + 2 ¾.**

In order to add these two mixed fractions first convert them to their improper fractions form!

**1 3/2 = (2 * 1) + 3 = 5/2**

**2 ¾ = (4 * 2) + 3 = 11/4**

To get common denominator LCM of 2 and 4 is 4

5/2 = (5*2)/ (2*2) = 10/4

Now 14/6 and 25/6 are of same denominator 10/4 + 11/4 (10 + 11)/4

**21/4 = 5 ¼**
